Cotton, polyester, rayon, linen, wool, silk, viscose…it seems the list is endless when it comes to a fabric types for our clothing and household linens. Here are some top tips to get the most out of your wash:

Be sure to ALWAYS read and follow care label instructions
If machine-washable, choose the correct water temperature as instructed by the garment care label
Wash light and bright colours separately
Check garments prior to washing such as empty pockets, look for any tears, rips and stains, close fasteners and zippers to prevent clothes snagging onto each other in the wash
Turn clothes inside out for washing especially dark jeans, sports and active wear to keep them looking new longer
